Argentina and Portugal win in their Rink Hockey World Championship debut

The men's teams of Argentina and Portugal, two of the favourites with Spain, debuted with a victory in the Rink Hockey World Championship, which takes place at CEM Isaac Gálvez in Vilanova i la Geltrú, while the women's teams from Argentina, Italy and Spain added their second victory in the championship.

Argentina and Portugal made a very good impression against Chile and Colombia, which they thrashed by 9-2 and 8-2, respectively. The Colombian team did not give any option to the Chilean, which already won by 5-1 at halftime and ended up easily defeating with three goals by Lucas Ordóñez, two by Pablo Álvarez and Carlos Nocolía, and one by Matías Pascual and Matias Platero. Portugal, meanwhile, also had no rival in Colombia, which won with three goals from Helder Nunes and Jorge Silva and two others from Rafa Costa.

In the women's category, Argentina, which beat Portugal 3-1; Italy, who did the same against Germany with a penalty goal (1-0); and Spain, who defeated Chile with a goal from María Díez five minutes from the end, achieved their second consecutive victory.

This Sunday also was the start of the Men's and Women's Intercontinental Championship in Sant Cugat del Vallès, with goals from Mozambique over Egypt (16-2) and Switzerland over Australia (12-1) in men, and Colombia over the United States in women (22-0); and the men's Challenger Championship in Terrassa, where they highlighted the bulging victories of Belgium over China Taipei (16-4), Macao over China (14-0) and Netherlands over India (15-6).
