Catalonia’s Costa Dorada was the setting of a major roller skating experience this Sunday as led by the Barcelona Skaters Association (Associació de Patinadors de Barcelona, APB). The Association organised an ‘APB 2 Províncies’ route that tacitly supported the World Roller Games Barcelona 2019 as the #RoadToWRG campaign kicks off.
The 25-kilometre route began at the train station of Sant Vicenç de Calders and ended at Vilanova i la Geltrú’s iconic Torre Blava, lasting some three hours and passing through several coastal towns such as Coma Ruga, Calafell, Segur de Calafell, Cunit and Cubelles.
Approximately 200 children and adult skaters participated in the event and the fine atmosphere that prevailed was accompanied by excellent weather conditions. It was an unbeatable setting in which the participants were able to roller skate along various promenades and country roads. The WRG Barcelona were also present, with several dozen riders who had an interest in the 2019 event wearing t-shirts announcing next year’s big roller skating competition.
