CPA Girona has provided its support to the World Roller Games with a unique performance in Barceloneta Barceloneta’s Plaça del Mar was today the stage for an undoubtedly unique performance. Little did people making the most of their day in this beachside square expect to witness a performance from the brand new European artistic skating champions in the category of large groups. The CPA Girona skating team was featured in this exhibition display as it adapted its award-winning show entitled “Bacterium”, which was being recorded to promote the World Roller Games Barcelona 2019, which are set to stage 11 World Roller and Skateboarding Championships between 4 and 14 July.

After having won all the competitions it participated in this season –Championships of Girona, Catalonia, Spain and Europe– the Girona team is starting as one of the big favourites to win gold at the World Roller Games Barcelona. Girona CPA coach Nuri Soler admits the team is in there with a chance: “We’re looking forward to the World Cup. Perhaps having won four gold medals this season does indeed imply some extra pressure on us, but we’ll try to channel the work that we are doing into an excitement and eagerness to perform. The fact that it is Barcelona, with all our people around us and skating at a packed Palau Sant Jordi are all added motivation to make us want to get there.”
