The names of the first athletes to classify for the attractive modality of roller freestyle at the World Roller Games of Barcelona 2019 have already been announced. Two roller skaters managed to obtain precious wildcards for this major roller sports event next year at the 2nd Spanish Championship of this modality, held last weekend in La Nucía (Alicante).
The big prize in this case went to absolute category winners Mery Muñoz and Álex Cebrián. In the case of Mery, it was also her second national title, after stepping onto the highest step of the podium ahead of Sara Vilella and Emi Parejo. While Álex managed to come ahead of Víctor Medrano and Xavi Eguino.
Both Mery and Álex will therefore take part in the Roller Freestyle World Championships to be held at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona next July as part of the WRG 2019.
The winners in the other categories of the 2nd Spanish Championships were Borja Fernández (master), Izan García (under 19 men’s), Núria López (under 19 women’s) and Abel Morales (under 14).
