The Spanish teams are completing a remarkable performance in the team disciplines, in which they have placed almost all their teams in the semifinals. The hosts of the 2019 World Roller Games will fight for medals in Rink Hockey and Roller Derby in both men's and women's categories and in Women's Inline Hockey.
In the first of these disciplines, Spain has been imposed with authority to Colombia (9-0) in men’s category and Germany in women (0-7) in their respective quarterfinal matches, played at Palau Blaugrana in Barcelona.
Friday July 12th, the semifinals will be played, the Spanish men's team will face the winner of the Portugal-Italy (22:00 h) match, and the women's Spanish team will play Italy (17:00 h). The other semifinal of the men’s category will be played the same day between Argentina-France (19:30 h), and the feminine one to Argentina-Chile (14:30 h).
In Roller Derby, Spain finished the first phase as the second group in men and third in women, qualifying for the semifinals that will take place onFriday, the 12th of July at Pavelló Municipal d'Esports Riera Seca in Mollet del Vallés.
In the men's category, the pass to the final will be played by the United States-Japan (3:00 pm) and Spain-Australia (4:30 pm); whereas in the feminine one they will be United States-India (18:00 h) and Australia-Spain (19:30 h).
As for Inline Hockey, in women Spain has won against Finland by 3 to 1 in and their rival in the semifinals will be the current world champion, United States, Friday at 17:00 h. Italy-Czech Republic (6:30 pm) will be the other semifinal of the World Championship.
The men's team of Inline Hockey has been the only one of the Spanish national teams that has remained on the doorstep of the semifinals, after falling 3-0 against powerful Canada in the quarterfinals.
