Spains clinches first alpine medal at WRG

Sept. 3, 2017

The discipline of Alpine enjoyed a new competition day today, with the turn of Giant Slalom taking place under some adverse weather conditions. Rain throughout the entire competition complicated the descents of the participants, but this did not seem to affect Marc Morera, who won the silver medal, Spain’s first in Alpine at the WRG. Marc performed brilliantly and could even have won gold, which finally went to Germany’s Marc Walz, while the other member of the Spanish team, Sergio Méndez, came in fourth at a few tenths of a second behind the bronze medal winner, Latvia’s Miks Zvejnieks.
