The World Roller Games Barcelona 2019 have displayed their major drawing power during the opening of the children’s fair Ciutat dels Somnis (City of Dreams), which is running in Barcelona from 27 to 31 December. Over a five-day period, this Christmas fair is offering a range of up to 120 activities for children in an environment that recreates some thirty urban facilities. Sports activities simply had to be included at Ciutat dels Somnis and so there is a major presence of various organisations, such as FC Barcelona Foundation, RCD Espanyol and World Roller Games Barcelona 2019.
The space dedicated to the WRG 2019 is located in the sports hall of the fair and has been delighting children since early morning today. The space includes a 20m x 14m track where visitors can freely practice the sports whose World Championships will be held at the World Roller Games next year, such as rink hockey, scooter, artistic, inline freestyle, skateboarding, etc. Children can begin practicing these sports with the help of monitors and witness displays of some of the world’s best athletes. Given the fact that today was the official opening day, the city’s mayor, Ada Colau, visited the fair and also there today was Anna Quintana, 11-time world champion of artistic roller-skating and captain of the CPA Olot team.
The mayor greeted those present and expressed interest in the latest developments of this major roller sports event in 2019. The CPA Olot captain, for her part, showed her great skill on roller skates in various exhibition displays on the track and brought out her talents in training by teaching youngsters how to skate with the help of various monitors.
