The organisers of the World Roller Games to be held in Barcelona in July 2019 attended the presentation event of imagExtreme Barcelona 2018 on Wednesday at CaixaBank’s imagCafé in Carrer Pelai.
This renowned international urban sports festival, which is set to celebrate its tenth anniversary this weekend (16-17 June), officially announced that it would take a break next year because of the staging of the WRG Barcelona, whose sports programme includes the world championships of skateboarding, roller freestyle and scooter.
WRG Barcelona Executive Director Marc Caballé presented the 2019 event at an event attended by world-class athletes such as Danny León and Mery Muñoz, as well as prominent figures such as the Sports Commissioner of the Barcelona City Council, Marta Carranza, who expressed her confidence in the future success of the WRG.
Caballé celebrated the fact that roller sports fans could enjoy the three aforementioned modalities at imagExtreme this weekend, given that they form part of the eleven that will comprise next year’s WRG. He also recalled that the recently signed agreement between World Skate and Street League guarantees the presence of the world’s best skaters at the 2019 event.
