The World Roller Games Barcelona 2019 have a reason to celebrate. The arrival of 2019, the long-awaited Roller Year, means that there are only six months left before this major international small wheel event begins to roll.
The event’s organisers are planning to announce a series of new developments over the coming weeks and these will be gradually unveiled as the eagerly awaited month of July approaches.
The WRG Barcelona will be held between 4 and 14 July in an event that is set to host a total of ten World Championships, alongside the participation of more than 4,000 athletes.
Delightful end-of-year hangover
Before 2019 began, the WRG bid farewell to the past year by witnessing first-hand how youngsters are greatly interested in the roller sports universe when it participated in the traditional children’s fair entitled La Ciutat dels Somnis (City of Dreams) at the Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue.
Approximately 25,000 visitors were able to enjoy exhibitions and activities in the area dedicated to the WRG 2019 between 27 and 31 December, including the presence of disciplines such as artistic skating, rink hockey, inline hockey, inline freestyle, roller freestyle, skateboarding or scooter. This was just a small foretaste of the major festival that Barcelona will experience next July.
