This summer Barcelona will host the Inline Freestyle World Championships, a discipline in which technique, creativity and maximum precision are all essential. This multi-competition sport requires athletes to perform tricks and figures around a straight line of equidistant cones and so skill is a decisive factor.

Various countries are a cut above the rest when it comes to the slalom competitions (classic and battle), these being Russia, Italy and, especially, China. In the case of speed slalom, the dominant countries are France, Italy, Taiwan and, once again, China. As regards the competition of slides, leading countries are Russia, Thailand, Spain and China. Finally, the predominant powers are all European –France, Italy and Spain- in the jump competition.
Marina Oliveras and Enrique Rubio are two of the leading Spanish Inline Freestyle figures today, while athletes like Russia’s Sofia Bogdanova, France’s Lily Granjon or China’s Huang Hai Yang are the most important international figures.
