Roller Freestyle is a guaranteed spectacular show for the World Roller Games 2019, because the world’s best specialists in the Park competition will compete in Barcelona for the World Championship of this discipline.
Some of the skaters confirmed for the competition, set to take place in Palau Sant Jordi between 5 and 7 July, are figures such as Japan’s Yuto Goto or Latvia’s Nils Jansons, two of today’s best Street skaters. What’s more, the former, alongside his compatriot Chihiro Azuma, current women’s champion of the 2018 World Cup and WRG 2017, have never competed in Spain, so Roller Freestyle fans will be eager to see them.
Some of the major male skaters set to compete at the WRG 2019 are Britain’s Joe Atkinson, champion of the 2019 World Cup and Winterclash 2019, Australia’s CJ Wellsmore, another very charismatic skater adored by the public, or Japan’s Takeshi Yasutoko, multiple champion of the X Games and current coach of the Japanese team.
Figures to keep a close eye on in the women’s category include Spain’s Mery Muñoz, the most successful national athlete in this discipline and winner of the past Winterclash, France’s Manon Derrien, reigning World Cup champion, or Latvia’s Liene Nulle, another athlete with major international prestige.
Tickets for the Roller Freestyle competition are now on sale at the WRG website. A Vert Jam Session with free admission will also be held during the WRG 2019, specifically in the Olympic Esplanade, next to Palau Sant Jordi, on Sunday 7 July.
