Terrassa is set to be one of the four subvenues of the World Roller Games 2019 and will host one of the competitions included in the discipline of Rink Hockey: the Challenger’s Championship.
This senior men’s category competition will comprise 12 countries divided into two groups, with matches to be played at the Poliesportiu Municipal La Maurina from 7 to 13 July and with free admission for all sessions.
Participating in the presentation of Terrassa as a WRG 2019 subvenue were Daniel Laga, Sports Coordinator for the Barcelona Provincial Council; Alfredo Vega, Acting Mayor of Terrassa; Ramon Basiana, President of the Catalan Roller Sports Federation and WRG 2019 Executive Committee, and Maria Moltó, WRG 2019 Sports Director.
During the presentation, Alfredo Vega wanted to highlight the fact that “this major event provides an excellent opportunity to display the sports spirit of our city. We are proud to participate in a decentralised event that takes into account the territory and recognises the enormous efforts carried out by clubs”.
For his part, Daniel Laga was convinced that the WRG “will be a great sports event at an elite level and will mark a turning point for the sports events that we stage. It also provides a showcase for our territory through sport. We connect with the territory through sport”. An idea also shared by Ramon Basiana: “Terrassa provides us with all the guarantees of success.”
