The second edition of the Barcelona Downhill Cup is set to take place next Saturday, 4 May, at what will be the circuit of this discipline during the World Roller Games. The competition of the National Downhill Championship will therefore inaugurate the route on which the Barcelona 2019 medals will be decided between 5 and 7 July.
The length of the circuit is 2.2 kilometres and it begins at the gardens of the Mirador de Montjuïc before heading down Carretera Montjuïc and Avinguda Miramar to end at the lower part of Carretera Miramar before reaching Passeig Josep Carner, next to Ronda Litoral.
The route is considered to be of medium difficulty and has speed peaks of between 75 and 90 kilometres per hour and an average gradient of 6.5%, although this is variable in sections.
The Barcelona Downhill Cup, the first competition of its kind to be held within a city in Europe, will include the competitions of Longboard, Inline and Street Luge –the same as the World Roller Games– in the Open, Women’s, Junior and Master categories.
